DescriptionThe objectives of the summer school are to help the students to: * Understand the mechanisms, functioning and evolution of marine ecosystems. * Assess the state of these ecosystems by taking into account multiple environmental drivers and pressures from natural and anthropogenic sources. * Learn how to devise and apply new model parameterisations. * Learn innovative ways to couple models of different trophic levels. * Provide students with a tool box for model skill assessment. * Address non linear combinations of driver impacts in a dynamic environment by using numerical simulation models which include dynamic feedbacks. * Understand the ecosystem-based approach to management and the application of management strategy evaluation tools.

Minimum Educational Requirement(students)The MEECE Summer School is open to PhD students and early career scientists who have research interests in ecosystem modelling. Your research should be within the focus of MEECE (see http://www.meece.eu/).
Application Documents RequirmentTo apply for a place at the MEECE Summer School you will need to submit the following information: 1. Personal statement which includes your motivation for applying, how it will benefit your research and career development and what you can bring to the school. 2. For PhD students and Post Docs please explain give a brief explanation (no more than 500 words) of your PhD subject and provide the name of your supervisor 3. CV (max 2 pages), including education history and training. 4. A letter of support from your supervisor or manager. 5. Travel grant application if required
Sponsors' Availabilityhis is a funded summer school, if your application is successful full funding will be provided to cover your time in Turkey including; accommodation and local costs. You will need to pay for your own flights to reach Turkey.
